This highresolution technique may further improve lesion characterization and ultimately be used to perform MRI diffusion-weighted imagingtargeted biopsy.

بررسی ارزش Diffusion Weighted Imaging در تصاویر MRI برای تشخیص سرطان پروستات
Background: Prostate cancer is the third leading cause of death and is the most common cause of cancer in elderly men. Regarding to the low accuracy of screening methods such as prostate-specific antigen (PSA), Digital Rectal Examination (DRE) and trans rectal ultrasound (TRUS) in detection and localization of tumor, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Diffusion Weighted Imaging (DWI) attracte...
متن کاملSignal Intensity of High B-value Diffusion-weighted Imaging for the Detection of Prostate Cancer
Background: Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) is a main component of multiparametric MRI for prostate cancer detection. Recently, high b value DWI has gained more attention because of its capability for tumor characterization. Objective: To assess based on histopathological findings of transrectal ultrasound (TRUS)-guided prostate biopsy as a reference, an...
متن کاملProstate Cancer : Are There Differences between Native Diffusion-weighted Images and the Apparent Diffusion Coefficient Map in Tumor Detection and Characterization?
Introduction: While recent studies have supported the utility of diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) in the detection of prostate cancer (PCa), these studies have employed varying methodology for the acquisition, processing, and interpretation of DWI. For instance, these studies have differed in whether the interpreting radiologists reviewed both the native diffusion-weighted images (nDWI) and app...
متن کاملHigh-Resolution Diffusion-Weighted Imaging for the Diagnosis of Prostate Cancer
Introduction An early detection of prostate cancer is essential to reduce mortality rates. In the past years, several studies have shown that diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) can differentiate tumor from normal peripheral zone [1-3]. Most of these studies have applied single-shot spin-echo EPI due to its high SNRefficiency and its insensitivity to motion artifacts. However, susceptibility-induc...
